The official music video for Jon Bellion’s new single, “Good Things Fall Apart” was released yesterday, and the audience has been loving it! The song has a whopping 90% user score on Album of the Year, indicating widespread acclaim. The new song, which was uploaded to the channel of the singer “Illenium,” features vocals from American singer Jon Bellion. Born in Lake Grove, New York, Jon Bellion is also a record producer, having produced Jason Derulo’s 2013 song “Trumpets,” Christina Aguilera’s 2018 song “Fall in Line,” and Halsey’s upcoming single “Graveyard,” from her upcoming album, “Manic,” which is expected to be released sometime later this year or early 2020. Jon Bellion also sang on Zedd’s 2015 song, “Beautiful Now,” which also enjoyed high levels of praise and acclaim, though not nearly to the degree of the newest track. “Beautiful Now” has a decent 75% user score, which is a great score but pales in comparison to the 90% score on “Good Things Fall Apart.” The music video for this fantastic song is sure to give you an out-of-this-world experience, both figuratively and literally!
The video premiered at 18:00 UTC (19:00 British Summer Time), Monday evening. The video begins with a text which reads: “As the earth begins to crumble, the human race has evacuated into the vast unknown. Our last transport begins its ascent.” The video then shows rockets being launched into the sky, and the song begins at 0:18 in the video. Directed by Jeremi Durand, the video follows two astronauts attempting to flee the planet as it is destroyed; scenes of Illenium and Jon Bellion performing the song in military wardrobe are intercut throughout the video. Current scientific research points to our planet Earth heading in the direction of being uninhabitable for humans. This video tackles this difficult subject. As the Earth gets progressively warmer, we may, in 40, 50, or 100 years, be looking to the stars for our future home. This video depicts a dystopian world where humans flee a bubbling, lava-smothered planet, and it doesn’t really have a happy ending. We watch as two astonauts struggle to leave our dying planet, with the last remaining spaceship to do so.
“Good Things Fall Apart” is the fourth single from Illenium’s upcoming album, Ascend, set to be released on August 16. The three previous singles from the album are “Take You Down,” “Crashing,” and “Pray.”
