Sisir Susur Surabaya

UNAIR NEWS – In order to accommodate students to express themselves through performing arts, the Ministry of Arts and Culture, Student Executive Board (BEM) Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) collaborated with Saung Indonesia to hold a performance entitled “Sisir Susur Surabaya”. This activity took place at UNAIR Dharmawangsa-B Campus on Wednesday (15/5/2024).

This annual activity containing pantomime, reading fairy tales and book reviews was welcomed by the President of BEM FIB, Tegar Putratama Fahriza. He explained that this activity could be a forum for actualization, especially for FIB students.

“I certainly really welcome this activity. This is certainly a forum for actualization for students, especially FIB students. Because it’s so in sync and relevant. “I want this not to end here, I hope there will be positive collaboration in the future,” he explained.

Campus Place for Creation and Expression
Minister of the Ministry of Arts and Culture BEM FIB, M Is’ad Dinullah said that the Sisir Susur Surabaya activity was a performance activity that started in public spaces in Surabaya and was then packaged on campus. “Actually, this activity has been around since 2022 and takes place in public spaces in Surabaya. “In 2024, we will bring a new concept by bringing it to campus,” he explained.

He added that this activity could be proof that campus could be a place for work and expression. “This activity can be proof that campus can be a place for us to work freely and express ourselves freely. “As well as being a medium for students to channel their talents and interests,” he added.

Other Artistic Approaches
In line with Is’ad, Adnan Guntur, founder of Saung Indonesia, explained that the Sisir Susur Surabaya activity was another form of approach to art. This is so that art gets closer to society. “Sisir Susur Surabaya is another approach to artistic methods. If we see the theater, we have to go to the theater first. “If we want, we will come to the community to be closer,” said Adnan.

Adnan also emphasized that he would invite the public, including students, to continue to be committed and active in the fields of arts, performances and literature. He hopes that students will pay more attention to this kind of activity. “Until who knows when, we will continue to work in this field because we want to provide benefits to society. “We hope that students will continue this activity, because if not students, who else will,” he stressed.
