The flood situation in Feni, Cumilla, and Noakhali has taken a dire turn as relentless rainfall and rising river levels have left more than 1.5 million people stranded. This devastating event has captured the attention of all Bangladeshi and online news BD platforms, with conditions worsening across multiple districts.

Feni District: Parshuram, Fulgazi, and Chhagalnaiya Severely Affected
In Feni, the upazilas of Parshuram, Fulgazi, and Chhagalnaiya are experiencing the worst of the flooding. Chhagalnaiya upazila was heavily impacted last night, with floodwaters submerging most areas, including rural roads, agricultural fields, and fish ponds. This has cut off essential access and severely impacted livelihoods. The situation in Parshuram is equally alarming, with one person reported missing, and the Feni-Parshuram regional road now impassable. Power outages have also affected many areas since last night.

Cumilla District: Gumti River Breaches Danger Mark
In Cumilla, the water levels of the Gumti and Muhuri rivers have risen significantly due to continuous heavy rainfall and the opening of the sluice gate at Dumber Lake in Tripura, India. Over the past four days, 320 millimeters of rainfall were recorded, with 52 millimeters falling in the last 24 hours alone, according to the Cumilla weather office.

Noakhali District: Over a Million People Stranded
The situation in Noakhali remains critical as floodwaters continue to rise due to heavy rainfall and tidal surges. Over a million people are stranded, with the worst-affected areas including Kabirhat and Senbagh upazilas. Schools have been converted into shelters, and relief efforts are underway with the distribution of dry food and rice.

Munshi Amir Faisal, the WDB executive engineer in Noakhali, reported that the district experienced 1,020 millimeters of rainfall in the past month, the highest in 20 years. This unprecedented rainfall has left many areas submerged, and the district administration is working to provide relief to those affected.
