Last night, the official music video for the song “APT” by Rose featuring Bruno Mars reached 1,000,000,000 views on YouTube, achieving the feat in only three and a half months. For 3-4 years, “viral” videos have been sparse and few and far between. The curse has finally been broken! Last year, Bruno Mars broke another multi-year curse. “Die With A Smile” became the first music video since 2021 to both reach 500 million views and get at least a 75% user score on Album of the Year. The last two videos that achieved that feat prior to last summer were The Weeknd’s “Save Your Tears” and Bruno’s previous work, “Leave the Door Open.” Both songs are from early 2021. “As It Was” almost had it right. It has 802 million views, and it even earned a spot on Todd in the Shadows’ “best of 2022” list, but it has only a 74% rating.
As of 2:38 p.m. EST Friday afternoon, the video now sits at 1,004,353,365 views.
