The body of an 11 year old girl from Texas was found on Tuesday, according to Polk County Sheriff Byron Lyons.

As we told you in a previous article, 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham left her home, where she was last seen, on her way to school, but never made it to the bus stop. “Audrii’s body was located at the Trinity River,” Lyons told WikiNews at a Tuesday news conference. The divers who found the body say they were “deeply saddened”. WikiNews cannot confirm or deny who the killer was, but police say a friend of Audrii’s father who lived on the family property, Don Steven McDougal, was charged Wednesday with capital murder in her death. Audrii Cunningham lived with her family in a lakeside community on the eastern shores of Livingston Lake. Lyons said that investigators were able to zero in on the location of Audrii’s body using cellphone records, videos and some information they received from McDougal. Investigators say was killed by a family friend, died from “homicidal violence including blunt head trauma,” according to the Harris County medical examiner’s office records. Audrii’s mother, Cassie Matthews, said during the memorial that her pain has left her at a loss for words. She described her daughter as “perfection.” “I’m truly blessed to have given birth to such an amazing little girl,” the mother said. No funerals have been concluded as of February 26, 2024.
