A tropical storm named Beryl is moving across the Atlantic Ocean towards the Caribbean Islands. According to The U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC), the storm has now developed in strength and has become a hurricane. Beryl is due to reach Barbados and then the Windward Islands, by the time which it is expected to be “life-threatening”. There could be large waves and water levels can rise up to 7 feet more than usual in onshore areas. Beryl could become a category 4 storm.

The forecast of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) says that the current hurricane season (June 30 to November 30) could consist of 25 named storms, of which up to thirteen could become hurricanes
