The Pentagon announced on Friday that it will remove its temporary aid pier in the Gaza Strip due to weather conditions. The US military initially built it with the stated purpose of getting humanitarian relief into the Strip in the wake of Israel’s bombing campaign.

The pier cost $230 million to build.

It will be removed due to whether conditions.

It may not return.
